Procrastination
I
admit that I have fallen victim to procrastination multiple times throughout my
life. I believe that I am not the only one, that other also procrastinated
once, twice, or a multitude of times. Why do we procrastinate in the first
place? My senior year of high school my English teacher assigned a huge
research paper that was thirty percent of our grade. Not only me but a majority
of the class would have failed because most of us did not do the research paper
until the night before, we did not even turn in a rough draft. We all got lucky
because our English teacher gave the class another week to do the paper which
was enough time for most of us to fix all the errors within our research
papers. I almost failed English meaning I almost did not graduate simply
because of procrastination.
If
we could begin to think more severely about why we procrastinate we might realize
that doing so could put us in a troublesome predicament that could have easily
been avoided. We might realize that the excuses we say to ourselves such as,
“I’ll do it tomorrow” “That can wait” “This is not due until…” are not
acceptable. Procrastinate is not a good habit to keep because if it becomes
part of our everyday lives then we are just wasting time by not being efficient
as possible. Procrastinate can sometimes cost not only time but money,
additional labor, and even jobs. Keeping all of this in mind it would be in our
best interest if we all decide to stop procrastinating as soon and as much as
possible.
There's some good writing here! Maybe get to it quickly and focus on the question so you come up with more potential causes. Then, in your final para, don't forget to NOT argue ;)
ReplyDeleteProcrastination is so common among students. In fact, I like to postpone doing my homeworks until the night before their due dates. It's a problem that we should solve, because it will always make the homework harder than what it is.
ReplyDeletefor me, it's unavoidable.. I really want to finish from assignments early, but I have to do many other important things, and enjoy life at the same time.. cramming is a problem I have too.. always delaying then start regretting..
ReplyDeleteThis is good but separate the first paragraph and the middle paragraph since the second paragraph starts to talk about a different point onto why we procrastinate.
